Nocturnal Hike - 204041

Celebrate the first day of autumn by joining our naturalist for a night hike! Participants will take a guided walk down darkened trails and discover the wonders of the night as we use our senses to experience the dark. Learn about the adaptations of night time animals through games and activities. Flashlights will not be used during the walk, but can be brought in case of an emergency.

Heart Saver CPR/BLAST Babysitting - 206012

This training course is for potential teenage babysitters. The BLAST! (Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training) program provides training in pediatric first aid, household safety, and the fundamentals of childcare. Tae Kwon-Do - 302100

Tae Kwon-Do is far more than just kicking and punching. It is also a philosophy, a way of life, and a code of conduct which emphasizes self-control. As students learn the physical aspects of the martial art,coordination, strength, speed, flexibility and endurance, they also learn the five moral tenants of Tae Kwon-Do: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. Classes are taught by Giorgio's Tae Kwon-Do & Fitness Company which has been based in Sudbury for over 25 years. At the end of the 8 week session, every participant will have the opportunity to break boards and showcase what they learned to their parents.
Tae Kwon-Do uniforms with belts are available to purchase separately for $25.

Rec Plus Basketball - 307010

RecPlus is an instructional program designed to further develop the skills of players in the Joel Noe Recreation basketball program. The RecPlus program consists of weekly sessions that reinforce basketball skills of the participants in a fun way. This program enables Joel Noe players to add a second structured basketball practice each week. Particular emphasis is placed on developing and reinforcing fundamental basketball skills through creative drills intended to challenge participants. Each session will end with scrimmages which allow the players to use their developing skills while having fun! This is a coed program.

Joel Noe Basketball 3-8 - 307599

This non-competitive league is designed to teach basic individual skills and emphasize team play. All games are held on Saturdays with one team practice held during the week at one of the Brookline Public Schools. The league will follow a 10 game schedule, available prior to the start of the season. Teams will be based by school as best as possible. Team placement requests may be made but are not guaranteed. Teams will be limited to 10 players per team and players will be notified of their team placement and practice schedule two weeks prior to the start of the program.

Travel Basketball 4-8 - 307600

This activity is highly competitive where boys and girls tryout for a spot on their grade specific team. This league is more demanding than the Joel M. Noe Recreation League and requires participants to make a strong commitment to the program. Travel teams are part of the MetroWest Basketball League. League games are played on Sundays with at least one required weekday practice for all participants. Only students who are Brookline residents or who attend a Brookline public or private school will be allowed to play. Please visit www.metrowestbball.com for all eligibility requirements prior to registering. Tryouts will be held on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday,9/25,9/26, 9/28 AND 10/2, 10/3, 10/5. Exact times will be posted online 2 weeks prior to the first tryout date.

Ski/Snwbrd Lessons at Nashoba - 310998

Wednesdays feature Ski & Snowboard Lessons at Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford, Ma where participants will have fun learning to ski or snowboard! Children will take a chaperoned bus to Nashoba Valley for 6 consecutive Wednesdays starting on January 3, 2018. The bus will leave promptly at 3:20P from Soule Recreation Center and will not stop on the route once it has left. Price includes transportation, lesson, and lift ticket. There is an additional fee for equipment rental ($110) to be paid at the Pre-fit day. The Pre-fit day is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13 from 6:00-7:00P at the Eliot Recreation Center 1st floor Classroom (133 Eliot Street, Brookline, MA 02467). Make up classes are not offered due to absence.

Teen Ski Nights at Wachusett - 310999

Fridays feature a Night Skiing & Snowboarding program offering children & teens the freedom to ski the mountain at their own pace and enjoy a night out with friends for 6 consecutive Fridays starting in January! Make up classes are not offered due to absence. The chaperoned bus will leave promptly at 3:00PM from Soule Recreation Center and will not stop on the route once it has left. The bus will return to Brookline at 10:00PM each night. There is an additional fee for lift tickets and equipment rentals to be paid at the time of registration through Wachusett Mountain"s online system. Participants will be fitted for rental equipment on the first night of the program.
