Does your child love exploring nature? Join Brookline's Environmental Educator in discovering our beautiful parks, sanctuaries and open spaces this spring and summer! Each class will focus on different seasonal themes such as flowers, animal habitats, and insects that we will investigate through hands-on exploration, games, arts & crafts, and stories. Nature Explorations will encourage and cultivate a child's interest in the environment through first-hand experiences. This is a great opportunity to expose your child and yourself to some of the amazing natural places in Brookline! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Directions and locations will be emailed the week prior to class.
As a little acorn, your young nature lover will have the opportunity to visit and explore many of Brookline’s parks and sanctuaries. We will focus on local wildlife and their habitats, unraveling the mysteries of the natural world through hands-on exploration, stories, arts & crafts, nature walks and games. Each day will feature a different theme and a new location for campers to enjoy. Nature Camp is designed to encourage children to discover, enjoy and respect nature through personal experiences.
This older group of naturalists will explore Brookline, focusing on the native plant life and varied habitats found in our natural areas. Sprouts will have the opportunity to visit many local parks, sanctuaries, and farms as we discover the cycles of life through hands-on exploration, stories, arts & crafts, nature walks, and games. Campers will also participate in the maintenance and harvesting of our community garden. Each day will feature a different theme and new location for campers to enjoy. Nature Camp is designed to encourage children to discover, enjoy and respect nature through personal experiences.
These rangers will experience nature based learning in the outdoors as they work towards earning a Junior Ranger badge. While visiting Brookline's parks as well as exciting destinations such as Halibut Point and Purgatory Chasm State Parks, campers will explore the outdoors with themes and activities including: fishing, kayaking, tidepooling, team-building, orienteering, conservation and more! Junior Rangers Camp will provide a unique learning experience while encouraging the exploration and stewardship of our natural areas.
For the more adventurous spirit, this program will begin with explorations in Brookline and then move beyond the town's boundaries. Our oldest group of naturalists will expand their knowledge and skill set as they experience nature by being active in it! Excursions include hiking trips, canoeing, kayaking, and a ropes challenge course. Both weeks will culminate in an overnight camp-out Thursday night. This program emphasizes hands-on, field-based, experiential learning and aims to foster stewardship.
Join us for the seventh annual family campout at historic Larz Anderson Park! Bring the whole family out for a cookout, s'mores, storytelling, and camping under the stars at the top of the hill! Due to the popularity of this program, we are opening a new Saturday night session. Don't let equipment get in the way of enjoying this fun family event - tents and sleeping bags will be available upon request. *Registration will open on Wednesday, May 3rd at 9am"
This afternoon canoe session is a great opportunity for your whole family to bond over a fun activity. After a brief instructional period, we will have plenty of time to canoe around the beautiful Ponkapoag Pond! All gear and transportation will be provided; all skill levels welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Kick off summer with an adventure! Join other teens on a day trip up to the beautiful White Mountains in New Hampshire! We will be conquering one of the 48 mountains there over 4000 feet high. No hiking experience? No worries- this will be one of the easier hikes and we will provide all food, gear, and expert guides so you can make it to the top!
Comprehensive week-long camp for swimmers ages 8-18 who have competitive swim team experience and/or who have passed American Red Cross Level 4 and are proficient in all four competitive strokes. Includes dry-land training, two daily swim sessions, instructional videos and underwater video taping. Open swim is from 3:00P-5:00P Monday through Thursday, and swimmers 10 and over may participate without adult supervision. Please note: The camp runs from 9:00A -3:00P Monday through Thursday and 9:00A - 1:00P on Friday.

Whether it's taking to the air on the multiple roller coasters, spinning head over heals on various other attractions, or cooling off in the massive water park; this trip will be sure to please all participants. We invite our youngest campers to experience Camp Kangaroo. We are committed to giving all our campers a friendly, welcoming summer camp environment, where process over product and fair play are always our top priority. Our camp’s curriculum is planned with a special emphasis on arts and crafts, noncompetitive games and activities that are integrated with fast paced fun and down time interaction. The ratio of campers to counselors is 1:5.
Camp Gator summer day camp programs for children ages 7-9 entering 2nd grade through fourth grade in the fall. Camp provides various activities and pre-established schedules where children can build confidence, develop skills, make new friends, and have fun! Our camp gives children an experience that lasts a lifetime by providing challenging activities under the guidance of caring, well-trained staff members. Camp Gator maintains a staff-camper ratio of 1:10. This ratio allows counselors to build relationships and provides each child with the attention he or she needs. Children take part in arts & crafts, non-competitive sports & games, aquatics activities including swim lessons, recreational play, and theme activities. Camp Kangaroo will feature entertainment activities and/or field trips weekly. Bus Transportation must be registered for separately.
