Little Acorns - 104001

As a little acorn, your young nature lover will have the opportunity to visit and explore many of Brookline’s parks and sanctuaries. We will focus on local wildlife and their habitats, unraveling the mysteries of the natural world through hands-on exploration, stories, arts & crafts, nature walks and games. Each day will feature a different theme and a new location for campers to enjoy. Nature Camp is designed to encourage children to discover, enjoy and respect nature through personal experiences.

*NOTE*- There will be two locations for Nature Camp this summer, and they will run concurrently. Sprouts - 104002

This older group of naturalists will explore Brookline, focusing on the native plant life and varied habitats found in our natural areas. Sprouts will have the opportunity to visit many local parks, sanctuaries, and farms as we discover the cycles of life through hands-on exploration, stories, arts & crafts, nature walks, and games. Junior Rangers - 104003

These rangers will experience nature based learning in the outdoors as they work towards earning a Junior Ranger badge. While visiting Brookline's parks as well as exciting destinations such as Halibut Point and Purgatory Chasm State Parks, campers will explore the outdoors with themes and activities including: fishing, kayaking, tidepooling, team-building, orienteering, conservation and more! Junior Rangers Camp will provide a unique learning experience while encouraging the exploration and stewardship of our natural areas.

Adventurers - 104004

For the more adventurous spirit, this program will begin with explorations in Brookline and then move beyond the town's boundaries. Our oldest group of naturalists will expand their knowledge and skill set as they experience nature by being active in it! Excursions include hiking trips, canoeing, kayaking, and a ropes challenge course. Both weeks will culminate in an overnight camp-out Thursday night. This program emphasizes hands-on, field-based, experiential learning and aims to foster stewardship.

Tae Kwon-Do - 302100

Tae Kwon-Do is far more than just kicking and punching. It is also a philosophy, a way of life, and a code of conduct which emphasizes self-control. As students learn the physical aspects of the martial art,coordination, strength, speed, flexibility and endurance, they also learn the five moral tenants of Tae Kwon-Do: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. Classes are taught by Giorgio's Tae Kwon-Do & Fitness Company which has been based in Sudbury for over 25 years. At the end of the 8 week session, every participant will have the opportunity to break boards and showcase what they learned to their parents.
Tae Kwon-Do uniforms with belts are available to purchase separately for $25.

Ski/Snwbrd Lessons at Nashoba - 310998

Wednesdays feature Ski & Snowboard Lessons at Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford, Ma where participants will have fun learning to ski or snowboard! Children will take a chaperoned bus to Nashoba Valley for 6 consecutive Wednesdays starting on January 3, 2018. The bus will leave promptly at 3:20P from Soule Recreation Center and will not stop on the route once it has left. Price includes transportation, lesson, and lift ticket. There is an additional fee for equipment rental ($110) to be paid at the Pre-fit day. The Pre-fit day is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13 from 6:00-7:00P at the Eliot Recreation Center 1st floor Classroom (133 Eliot Street, Brookline, MA 02467). Fridays feature a Night Skiing & Snowboarding program offering children & teens the freedom to ski the mountain at their own pace and enjoy a night out with friends for 6 consecutive Fridays starting in January!
